Run for a healthier Missoula! All race proceeds stay in our community and benefit the Missoula Family YMCA.
Race Details
With four options, the YMCA Riverbank Run offers a race for everyone! Virtual race options available.
Volunteer
Whether it's volunteering on race day or sponsoring the race itself, there's a way for you and your business to get involved and give back to the Missoula community!
Since 1972, the YMCA Riverbank Run has been a favorite springtime tradition for Missoulians! Join us as we wind through Missoula Midtown, all while raising money and awareness for life-saving YMCA programs and services.
The YMCA Riverbank Run is a family-friendly event that is open to all ages and abilities. Choose from the 1 Mile, 5K, 10K, or run all three events in our signature event, the Trifecta (10.321 miles). Strollers and wheelchairs welcome! No pets, please.
Proceeds benefit the Missoula YMCA's financial assistance program. This program ensures that everyone can participate in Y programs and services, regardless of ability to pay. Click here to learn more about our financial assistance program.
Race Information & Packet Pickup

Course Map
The YMCA Riverbank Run offers four race options—the 1 Mile, 5K, 10K, and Trifecta. All races start in downtown Missoula (the intersection of Higgins & Broadway) and end along the Kim Williams Trail opposite from Caras Park. Virtual racers can choose to run the traditional courses, run one of our suggested alternates, or run a favorite route of their own. Maps are available for our in-person races, as well as our suggested alternates.
Grade School Challenge
Join the fun! For just $15, any student under age 12 may enter the Riverbank Run (in-person or virtual) and represent their school in the Grade School Challenge. The elementary school with the most student racers will be awarded a trophy!

Volunteer at the Race
Volunteers make the Riverbank Run possible! Race volunteers are needed on race day to direct traffic, cheer on racers, and monitor water stations. This one-day volunteer opportunity is perfect for students, families, or businesses wanting to give back to their community. All volunteers will need to attend one 30-minute orientation on race day prior to the start of their shift. Click the link below for details or to sign up to volunteer.
