Here for Missoulians
The Greater Missoula Family YMCA has been serving Western Montana since 1967. In this time, its work has shaped generations of families. Keep scrolling to meet a few of these many families.
Alberta & Aurora
When Alberta and her partner, Jadrian, moved to Missoula five years ago, they quickly realized they needed child care for Aurora. That's where the Y stepped in.
The Schermerhorns
Michelle and JJ came to the Y over 10 years ago in search of a safe and welcoming place for their son, Michael, who had just been diagnosed with cancer.
Wendy & Natalie
When Wendy first came to the Y for child care, she was looking for a very specific kind of care for her two-year-old granddaughter, Natalie. Natalie had special needs.
The Peacocks
While Donovan lives with developmental disabilities that can limit his options for out-of-school activities, he’s been able to grow and thrive with the Y through swimming & summer camp.
Doris
Doris has been a loyal member for quite some time, dating back to 1979 when she first joined the local YMCA in Honesdale, PA. She may be 90 years old, but she "feels about 35" because of the Y.
The Johnsons
Just over four years ago, a young mother who found herself suddenly single, left behind with an empty bank account, a chronic heart condition, and three children.
